Today's last DIY's

Here's some stuff, don't really should I show them here in order to embarass myself and make you all laugh your guts out...

The bin and picture turned out really bad, so they are going away. Good thing is that one of my friends niece has a dollhouse and I can give all the not-so-good-stuff there for her to play with :) And it seems that she's going to get lots of things :D

DIY for Rosey Beach Cottage

Now at least my Primrose has a name - Rosey Beach Cottage. It's situated on the beach area, but the lady living there loves roses, so there you go. I had to come up with an excuse for my crappy DIY so the lady there loves to shop in fleamarkets and paint & repair the stuff herself although she's not that good with it :D

pinwheels (they actully work)

pillow cases

a rose picture

Savon rose sign

The pictures are printed from this fabulous site: The Graphics Fairy

Suggestions and help, please :)

I've been trying to come up with a name to my cake shoppe and nothing. Absolutely nothing. So, any suggestions my friends? The shop is 3 storey, in the ground floor there's the shop, 1st floor the kitchen and 2nd floor the bedroom. I don't know really in which country the shop is located, the colours that are used in the interior are red, white and blue with silver/pewter accents, so somewhere in the Central Europe? UK?. So I'm open to all suggestions :)

And for the help part - if you see or know some web shop that there's nice, pastelly coloured teapots, services and china, please tell me. And this goes also for porcellain parrot (and other bird) figurines also, as I decided that my Buttercup house is going to be bird themed :)

Now off to try to do something productive,

Ira

Welcome Evelien, Janice, Ingrid, Ana and Kathi :)

Nice that you've joined my blog,

Have a wonderful weekend,

Ira

Shopping...

I did some shopping today. Major. I've been drooling after Greenleaf's dollhouses and whining as there's only one place in Finland where you can get them and they haven't been ordering them for awhile due maternity holiday. I could have gotten them from US, but the shipping costs are ridicilous.

Today I popped to the Finnish shops website and WHOA, they've started to order them again. This is where I lost it. A fast call to my mom - would she buy me a dollhouse for a birthday present? And of course my wonderful mom said yes, so Greenleaf Lily is mine, mine, mine :D :D It's going to be my French house, oh yes!

But, of course I couldn't do with just one Greenleaf, so I ordered also an Orchid - it's going to painted black and become my dark house. But no, two isn't enough, so a Primrose is also going to have home here and it's going to be my pastelly shabby chic house after some construction work. But, but, but, I really do want a Buttercup also - click - it's in the basket. Don't have any clue what I'm going to do with it, but hey, every girl needs a Buttercup, don't you think? (Please say yes...)

I have now 5 dollhouses as my shoppe, Jubilee single terrace is already on its way here from UK. FIVE, what the hell am I thinking? Or more likely, not thinking at all.  I don't even have places for five dollhouses. Orchid has a place, a perfect one in upstairs. Buttercup can be place in the library, Primrose is so small that there shouldn't be any problems with it. Jubilee st is a small problem, as it's so high, but it's maybe going to be placed in the kitchen. But my Lily, it's so big that I really don't know where to put it.

So learn from my mistakes, think hard before going nuts in the web shops :D

Ira

Welcome Susan, Rosanna, Sonia and Susanne :)

Nice to have you here, hope that I can give you some nice time in my blog :)

Sunshine from Norma :)

Thanks a lot for the sunshine Norma, we actually had lots of it today :) And we need it a lot more, as there's over 70 cm snow - it takes a lot sunshine to melt it :D

And here's to whom I'll give it

Lori and especially Shelby needs some sunshine :)
Marlies - she has her living sunshine born :)
Mercedes - she just seems so sunshiny person :)
Linda - everything she does is sooo pretty :)
Kiva - her work is just wonderful and she makes me smile :)
Michelle - so beautiful work and wonderful ideas :)
and finally I have to give some sunshine back to Norma, as she seems to be such a warm and caring person as well as wonderful miniaturist, have a nice day :)

Some DIY

Here's some DIY what I've done for the beach house:
(The pics are again a bit poor due the lighting, sorry for that)

Baking trays, soaps, dish cloths

Painted some flower pots and did some nichos

Covered a bench, a basket (it was bought one, painted it and did the lining) and a crown done by Michelle's instructions.

A rustic metal chair

Welcome Kiva, Lori and Michelle

Hi you guys and nice to have you here :)

Gifts

I got some gifts today - small stones for my dark house from Elina and tiny potholders from Hanne.

My sister-in-law brought from NY a statue of liberty - it's a bit big (app.10 cm), but it will go to my French villa, I just have to saw the New York text away.

Ok, now I'm officially loosing it. Totally.

I went today to pick up my son from hockey practise and I thought that I'll go and buy some black acrylic paint and white Fimo. Yes, I got the Fimo with many other colours too. And some flower crafts things. And no, didn't get the paint as I went totally nuts as I saw some Tilda stuff in the store. I've been admiring Liberty Biberty's pastel shabby-chic-country houses and I lost it. Here's what I bought for my VERY NON-EXCISTING beach house:

From the Paper Stack I'll select the wallpapers and with the fabric I'll do something. Now I just have the tiny itsy bitsy problem - there's no beach house and I really can't buy it, so some construction work is waiting for me... And I really don't have the slightest clue where I'm going to put all these houses... Somebody should kick me hard.

Well, I got something for my cake shoppe, which is really should arrive this week.

And some green ribbons for something

They would look really nice with some smokey blue and egg blue as well as coral. But I really can't go there, no, don't even think about it.

So, now some googling for some ideas for the beach house plan.

I'm nuts.

Witchy bottles

This is all I have got done today, glueing the labels to the bottles and filling them.

Finding stuff for filling was fun, the blood of the undead is chili sauce and the potion booster is jalapeno tabasco :) The wonderful labels are from Deadspiders Etsy shop.

Here's some stuff that I have to my houses already:

For the dark house (where the potion bottles are going)

For the French villa

And lots of more coming by mail (I've ordered so much stuff that I don't even remember what so it's like Christmas when opening the packages :) ). I do have still problems in finding beds for the houses - everything I like costs too much and all affordable ones aren't what I'm looking for. Thought it probanbly would be quite good idea to get the houses first :D That's my other problem, I probably have to build the French villa myself, as I haven't found any houses that would be ideal for it. And to save some cost the dark house is also going to be diy-thing. I think that it will be wise to start with it, as it doesn't matter so much if the walls are croocked etc. :D

And please, could the snowing stop, we're going to have some snow still in June as it's going to take so long for all this to melt.

Wallpaper

I've been googling a lot in order to find some wallpaper to my shoppe and it's been really difficult to decide the color scheme but now I finally made some decisions. So, here are the wallpapers, all ordered from a fabulous place called Itsy bitsy mini

The red check is going to the shop area with white panelling, the blue to the first floor (kitchen) with either white washed or red panelling and the red toile to the attic (bedroom). I also orderd some red toile in fabric also.

I also ordered these wallpapers for my French house

Aren't  they just fab?

Oysters

Today almost all I got done were these oysters (and 20 of their friends) and some parsley:

There is still lemon vedges missing, but I think that I need to practice a lot before even trying to do something so difficult. The oysters aren't as nice as I wanted - I realized that my gray Fimo was too light.

I also started 3 bread boxes, now I just have to figure out how I'll do the lids. I also have to try to find some nice black and white labels to glue on them, as I think that my handwriting would ruin them :)

Welcome Norma and Josje :)

Nice to have some new followers on my blog - I did do a fast sneak peak to your blogs and OMG what work you have done. Hope that my someday arriving dollhouse is going to be half as nice as yours :)

Greetings from COLD Finland :)

Ira
