A sad day

Today has been quite a sad day, one of the horses broke his leg and he had to be put to sleep :( Have a good journey Par Avion to the evergreen paddocks.

I did some miniature work, it's a good way to take your mind off from sad things. The stairs are now ready, now I'll have to do the the floors and then I can glue the house together. The mail also brought some nice things for the houses, I'll take some pics tomorrow.

I also decided that I will do from the Greenleaf Buttercup an old Russian wooden cottage, with it I can really practise the Sylvia's famous dirtying :)

Now off to do something,

Ira

Welcome Sylvia and Marleen :)

It's really nice to have you here :)

Bakkery now and some goodies

Here's how the Bakkery looks like now, I so want to glue it together, but have to do the floors first.

And did some organizing - all paper craft stuff was hauled away in order to make some room for the ministuff

And I got some goodies from Hanne yesterday

Now have to go to do the cupcakes.

Evil ideas

I did some wallpapering and of course I got some bubbles in it. And I realized that I had glued the railing on one staircase on the wrong side. So I started to think as you all have these pretty, nicely decorated skillfully finished dollhouses I'd better start thinking something else - I could experiment different destruction methods on the houses. I would have my cute little burned down Bakkery, blown up Rosey Beach Cottage, hurricane hit Dark House etc. That would be a bit different don't you think? It might even pass as modern art as it seems nowdays be really weird - a while ago there was this lady in Helsinki (the capital of Finland) dressed up as vagina and people could walk in it and talk with her. Art? I'm probably getting too old to understand modern "art". But I could do an installation of these broken houses - "The power of fire, gas and wind - the influence of destruction on modern dollhouse society"

I think that I should take a nap or do some cooking instead of painting :D

Welcome Sonya :)

Nice to have you here in my blog,

Ira

And MDF

And my paints and paintbrushes etc. No matter how much I sand, try to paint really carefully, there's always a dripping or something ruining the paint job. I've been sanding the window frames so many times that they will be just saw dust in a minute.

On the next houses there will be no painted surfaces, just tiles, paper, stone, stained wood etc. as my paint job in the miniform is really sh*tty.

And a question, what paint do you use when painting furniture? It would be quite nice to get a even surface sometime...

Are there any competitions for a worst paint job in dollhouses? Or the worst interior finishes in dollhouses? I would win so easily... Yes, I'm frustated.

And I can assure you, there will be no close-up pics of the SZ Bakkery unless I learn how to edit pictures :D

I HATE cleaning !!!!!

Just had to rant a bit as I've been cleaning this little h*ll hole the whole day. And boy don't I hate it. I even took part to a radio station's competition where you can win a cleaner for a day. If I would win it, I would feel sorry for the cleaner, as the house is constant mess - all the dogs are shedding like crazy and drooling all over the place and the kids making mess aren't helping a bit.

But now it's all done so I can do some paint work tonight and tomorrow it's just miniature and cooking as my son is having his 12th birthday tomorrow and we'll have the party on Sunday.

Cleaning sucks.

The construction of Bakkery

This is the state the bakkery is currently. I try to paint the interior ceilings and exterior walls today, on exterior it will temporary until I decide what I want to do with it. The roof is going to be black "slate" as I found really nice sanding paper today from the store.

And I can tell you that painting the staircase parts is a pain in the ass, hate it.

Welcome Jean & Margaret :)

Welcome to my blog,
