Spring - what spring?

This is totally bizarre. We're almost in the end of March and the snowbells and crocus should start blooming soon, but no - we got app.15 cm snow last nigth! This is going to be really interesting spring and summer as with this rate, the daffodils are going to bloom simultaneously with roses and tulips probably will bloom in July. This snowing and minus degrees could end already.

Anyways, I have a stable-free day today so after walking the dogs I'll do some minis :)

  2. Yes please, a lots of it :D

This spring is really going to be awful as when all this snow melts, the garden will be a mess as we're on a clay based soil. And the house is going to look awful as no matter how much we try to clean the paws of the dogs, they still carry in tons of mud. And you can imagine how it's going to look with our white floors...

  3. Are we heading against a new ice age or something? Brrr... I'll soon be emigrating if this continues. Finding great comfort in all the nice postings in a warmer "Blogland" though:-)

  4. I don't think it is unusual to have snow in March. I was just looking at some pictures of March 24/25 2008 when we had a lot of snow too. I think you're just fed up with it all and want spring to start.
Where I live spring started on Tuesday. The farmers are going full speed ahead, it's a constant coming and going of tractors around here. Ploughing and tilling the soil and planting too. The first potatoes are in the ground already. I need to get a move on too if I want any vegetables from my garden this summer! I'm always starting too late...

Ira, I sent your gift on Tuesday, I'm hoping it won't take too long! I've never sent anything to Finland before so I really don't know how long it takes.

  5. Yes, I want the spring start and sometimes there's snow in March, but it's really weird that there's app.-20°C in the night at this point of year. And we've got way too much snow this year, over 1 m, so it's going to take a long time before it melts :(

The Finnish post is ok, it should arrive today or latest on Monday :)

  7. Ira after a week of sunshine we were presented already with rain, butttttt we have about 19º temperature which is quite good, at the end of last Summer my house was completely white now it has a "lovely" green patina...I hate it. Hope that spring comes to stay next week.

  8. We are seeing signs of spring all around us here, Ira! But we often have a late frost--and we always worry that we will have one that will kill our peaches here! The orchards have been pruned and we're awaiting the flowers now. I'll post a pix on my blog when they bloom!
