More albums/books and some baking

Here's what I've done today - it looks so small amount, it's amazing how long the minies take time to do!
Finnish buns
Baquettes and Finnish dark bread
Potatoes, unwashed :)
Waffles with cream and strawberries
All the bakings are made from salty dough which contains equal parts of flour and salt, then add some oil and water. It was the first time I dried to do anything with it and I was really positively suprised :) The texture is more close to the real baking than with polymer clay but it's not as easy to work with. To do the dark bread I added lots of cocoa powder to the dough. It was such fun, that I think I'll continue to experiment with it what you can add to the dough etc. Just make sure that you don't have any cuts in your hands, I have and it was not too nice :) And be aware if you have dogs - they seem to like this stuff some reason, I had them accompanying me and drooled all over kitchen floor...

Tomorrow is the drawing day :)

  1. I think you've had a really productive day! The bread texture is wonderful, very realistic, and the waffles look delicious :)

  2. A great days work, they all look delish!

  3. Great work!
I like the idea about salt-dough, it was how I originally started, but somehow forgot, and you are right, its more like real bread. A very fine idea to add cocoa too.
The potatoes are stunishing, and the albums are to die for!
No wonder it took time, you have been so productive and inventing too..
    Love, Susanne

  4. I love your little cute albums!!! They look so neat and well done :)
I think your baking is a success too!! I remember doing some big figures with the children when they were small, it was a very nice material to work with! Did not have any dog though... but the smallest one was very disappointed when tasting it!!! Did you use it for the waffles too?
    Synnøve :)

  5. Thanks girls :) The waffles are done also with the salt dough, I have the Bodo Henning waffle iron, it was a bit difficult to use it as the dough stuck on it all the time. The dogs are such idiots, I gave them piece of the dough, the ate it but made all these yack-faces all the time. I would have thought that they don't want more, but no, drooling continues. It tastes bad and they want more? Idiots :D

Susanne, the potatoes are rolled in ground coffee, the idea is from Maria in Nukkekoti Väinölä, she has so many good tutorials and ideas there, '

  6. That's a lot of great stuff for one day :) Maybe dogs think you have something more tasty on the table:)
