Some cakes, 1:1 sadly :D

Wish I could do something like these from Fimo, I'm going to try to tackle my Fimos on the weekend, I'll then post some pics for your horror - I'm really bad with it and if something works out nicely, it's totally out of scale :D

As I haven't done any minies today either, here's some more food pics, this time some cakes - looking doesn't have any calories :D

First salty ones, sandwich cakes as we call them here in Finland, perfect party food :)

And then the sweet ones

I'll try to get some minies done this evening so you don't have to read all the time these 1:1 posts, sorry for that :)

Now to cook some chicken pasta - more food, sorry :D
(but here's the recipe, really easy and good - fry some onion and garlic in olive oil, add cubed chicken, fry, add full cream and estragon, soya sauce and black pepper, pour over cooked pasta and add tons of parmesan)

  3. Thanks :) Sadly as I would like to be able to do cakes like that in 1:12, but don't think so :D

Catherine - it's a sandwich cake. This one had inside layers of toast and Finnish dark bread (crust cutted away) with salmon cream that's made of smoked salmon, cream cheese, horseradish, chives and sour cream. You moisten the breads with milk, then layer everything like a cake and leave it to the fridge for overnight. Next day you decorate the cake, I've used cream cheese with some sourcream and the shrimps. You can do the layer cakes from almost anything you like, my favorite beside the salmon is a filling that's made of ham, grated cheese, mayonnaise, mustard and russian pickled cucumbers (they have lots of garlic in them). For it I do the "frosting" from mayonnaise and cream cheese.

  5. Yes, it's a really common party food over here :) And they are quite easy to make and so tasty. And the good thing is that you can virtually use anything in the filling as long as it has some mayo, sourcream etc. on it. And the most important thing is to moisten the breads really well, dry sandwich cake is totally bad!

And welcome to my blog :)
