Today I managed to do a chair and fire to the bedroom fireplace:
The chair is made from this cheap, a bit off-scale armchair. I cut the arm rests away and added wooden legs, the front ones have these cute brass casters. The whole chair is covered with one piece of fabric (found this really nice brown silk from my stash), as I didn't want to do any sawing - it's supposed to resemble a loose cover :)
The fire looks really nice in real, can't find any settings from my camera to get it right in the picture. I cut pieces of wood and glued them together. Painted the bulb with golden glasspaint and the light is inserted into a broken glass jar which I painted with golden and red glasspaints.
Soooo nicely made, Ira! Thanks for telling how you did the firelight - light makes such a difference to a setting, and firelight is the best of all.
VastaaPoistaTe ha quedado de lo mas real, hasta puedo sentir el calorcito!!!

Oooooh It loks great! I love the fire too. It looks so cozy and the sort of light it gives the room is beautiful.
VastaaPoistaHi! What a great and easy way to light a fire! Thanks for sharing. I love your chair too.

The effect of the fire is fabulous. So cold in England but you made me feel cosy!
VastaaPoistaPrecioso ambiente que crea la chimenea, solo falta la copa de vino y un buen libro!. Un beso.
VastaaPoistaAs the others said, firelight always looks warm and cosy and really makes a room lovely. Thanks for telling us how you did the fire, maybe use that technique in future.
VastaaPoistaIra, your fire technique will be a good alternative for my tribal scene ! The 1st picture was taken really nicely , it sets off your fire really well. I read somewhere that if you place some crumpled yellow & red cellophane paper, the flame may look like its flickering and even sparks. Does the broken glass give that effect too?
VastaaPoistaCiao Ira, it's lovely, warm and cozy. Than you for sharing the tecnique. Have a nice day Rosanna
VastaaPoistaThank you all :)
VastaaPoistaSans - no it doesn't flicker, I have to try with the cellophane how it looks like, I should have some yellow somewhere. Thanks for the tip :)
I like your fireplace, the photo in the dark with the lighted fireplace looks very welcoming.

Everyone just said what I wanted!;)The fire looks so real especially on the first photo and the chair looks lovely loosely covered :)
VastaaPoistaIra, let me know how it turns out?
VastaaPoistaHello Ira. The atmosphere of the room is so intimate that only one good book and a cup of milk and then come to settle there :-)

Hi Ira, I'm a new follower! Thanks for the great idea for the fire. I've only used red on the lights, never thought of gold. I'm going to give it a try. Sounds terrific. Love your work in general.
VastaaPoistaBye
