And it looks like this:
(ignore the dog hairs in the pictures, they are everywhere in this house...)
I'm really pleased how the floor turned out :) It's made of watercolour paper pads backing cardboard which I first covered with filler and then painted dark gray with acrylics. Then I tried the sideboard on top of it and didn't like the colours together so decided to try the glass paint. Yes, it's painted over with black glass paint and I have to say that I love the sheen on the tiles. Don't know which type of stone it's supposed to imitate, but who cares as long as it looks nice :D Now I have to decide what to do to the walls.
That would be really used black marble? LOve the shining effect! It is so different and superb!
VastaaPoistaBeautiful results! At night you hear the ticking of the bones creaking Mr. Skellington insomniac who walks into the kitchen...
VastaaPoistaClic clac, clic clac...
:-)
Flora :D I hope that he won't walk too much as I want to sleep at night :D
VastaaPoistaEwa - yes, it could be black marble. I love the sheen also, the glasspaint gives a silky smooth shine which is wonderful. I have to go and buy some more :D
People laugh at me for using glass paint but it gives a lovely sheen dosnt it looks fabulous, Kate xx
VastaaPoistaIt's absolutely my favorite paint so far :) So let them laugh all they want, they won't have these love sheens on their things :D
VastaaPoistaI was a bit worried how the glasspaint reacts with the acrylics as I use solvent based glasspaint, I like it a lot more than the water soluble one.
Pienso como tu.
VastaaPoistaQue importa si no imita a una piedra en particular, te ha quedado maravillosamente bien!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
besitos ascension
Uhhh spooky. You going all black and scary now ;0) One cannot turn away for just a few minutes before you´ve changed everything...
VastaaPoistaI love the black floor, have to try the glass paint one day...
Hello Mr Skellington!! - he's looking at me from the side of the page. Oh no, he's brought flowers - is he a big romantic softie at heart?
VastaaPoistaThe floor looks excellent, Ira, and yes the clatter of his feet as he surveys the house will be quite clear in the night time!!
Yes, Annie, going black and dark big time :) And loving it :D I've started to collect and do stuff for my black & white house also, painted yesterday a hutch black and it looks fab :)
VastaaPoistaGlenda, yep a big clattering softie :D I just LOVE the skeletons facial or should I say bonial expression as he's hugging the flower, he is just so full of love :) And shoot, I'll make him wear some slippers :D
I love the new layout!
VastaaPoistaI've gone back and read the previous post (doing things in the wrong order as usual) and yes, the painting is beautiful, and very moving, both in the art and in the intention.
VastaaPoistaMr S's other life!!
Why do we have this fear of bones? They're a beautiful part of who we are.
Fabulous effect, I must remember this, Ira. And I laughed at Flora's clic clac clic clac :) I suspect that skeletons are either insomniacs or they sleep like the dead :)
VastaaPoistaI think the effect look fabulous, it has a just polished look. You can imagine that the house maid has just been in and cleared up something grisly!
VastaaPoistaLove the sheen and the colors of the floor! Great job!
VastaaPoistaI love your floor.
VastaaPoistaGeneviève
Woo hoo!!! Love your new avatar, Ira!!
VastaaPoistaMe again - Mr Skellington will be Father Christmas sometime, won't he?
VastaaPoistaIra, my mum used slates for her garden and bathrooms and your stones look exactly like them. Google "slates" and see it for yourself.
VastaaPoistaI am very very impressed with the results. You have made very realistic slates. I am buying bottles of glass paints when I start on my havelis.
I am impressed by your ideas and all the stuff you have made lately, the tiles look fab!!!!
VastaaPoistaSynnøve :)
Glenda - yes, he will, of course :D Don't know what kind of presents he'll bring thought :D
VastaaPoistaSans, I was thinking of slate, but for some reason thought that the slate can't be that black. Well, happy now as I have almost black polished slate :)
And thank you all, I'm happy that you like the floor also as I'm really satisfied how it turned out :)
they really look very nice!! and we don't care if it is supposed to imitate something! you've invented a new material! congrats! lol
